Unagi Kabayaki


Serves 1

  1. 1 200g unagi fillet
  2. 1 bowl of warm steamed rice
  3. Some rice seasonings
  4. 1 piece of large seaweed (cut into 10 strips)
  5. 10 thin slices of avocado
  6. Wasabi Pickled ginger
  7. Some toasted sesame seeds
  1. Bake marinated unagi fillet for approaximately 12 mins at 180C.
  2. Sprinkle some rice seasonings over the warm steamed rice and mix well.
  3. With slightly moistened hands (use some virgin olive oil), form the rice inot 10 long rice pieces.
  4. Place one seaweed strip on a plate then place the rice piece on top of the strip, in the middle.
  5. Place a slice of avocado on the top.
  6. Spread a thin layer of wasabi on the top.
  7. After 12 mins, remove the unagi from the oven and cut into 10 equal pieces.
  8. Place the unagi on top of the wasabi then wrap the seaweed strips around.
  9. Sprinkle some toasted sesame seeds on top.
  10. Serve with some extra wasabi and pickled ginger and enjoy!
