Beef Gyudon


Serves 1

20-30 min

  1. 1 serving rice (as recommended)
  2. 125g beef
  3. ½ medium yellow onion, sliced thinly
  4. 2 tbsp sake
  5. 2 tbsp mirin
  6. 1.5 tbsp soy sauce
  7. 2 tsp sugar
  8. ¼ cup dashi or beef stock
  9. Sliced scallions, shichimi togarashi for garnish
  1. Cook rice.
  2. When rice is almost done, start making sauce. Start by combining ingredients from sake to stock in a saucepan.
  3. Add your onions and cook cook over medium heat for about 5-10 mins, until onions become soft.
  4. Add beef, simmer on medium-low for at most 5 mins, until just cooked through.
  5. Pour the contents of saucepan over bowl of cooked rice, garnish.
  6. Serve and enjoy your Beef Gyudon!
