Hassle Free Hainanese Chicken Rice

Ingredients for Rice
  1. Singlong / Chng Kee’s Chicken Rice Mix Sauce
  2. 2pcs Pandan Leaves, tie a knot
  3. Rice (based on your usual amount and water)
  4. 2 to 3 slices of ginger
  5. Fried Shallots (optional)
  1. Measure your rice amount and water as usual
  2. Put in your rice cooker
  3. Scoop 2 to 3 tablespoons of chicken mix sauce into the rice cooker (read instructions as per sauce mix. But as its usually saltier I half the recipe stated) Mix sauce in rice and water
  4. Put in Ginger and Pandan leaves
  5. Turn on the cooker and cook as per normal
  6. Rice done. Scoop and serve. Can sprinkle some fried shallots for more taste
Ingredients for Chicken
  1. Fried Shallots (optional)
  2. Knorr Savor Rich Chicken Concentrate Seasoning
  3. 2 Boneless Leg Chicken
  4. Ginger 4 to 5 slices 
  5. Sliced spring onions (optional) 
Preparing the Chicken
  1. Fried Shallots (optional)
  2. Score a few cuts on the thicker side of the chicken leg (not the skin side) 
  3. Use knorr savour seasoning rub all over the chicken leg. Marinate for at least 30 mins or longer
  4. Place the chicken on a plate with ginger slices
  5. Cover the chicken with cling wrap
  6. Steam for around 15 to 20 mins
  7. Remove cling wrap and steam another 5 mins till cooked
Sauce for Chicken
  1. Pour our the steamed sauce from the chicken into a saucer
  2. Add 1/2 tablespoon of oyster sauce, 1/2 tsp sugar, 2 tbsp soy sauce
  3. Mix and pour over chicken before serving
  4. Spring onions for decoration and flavors on top of chicken
